Mission Statement The E.E.T.-Pipeline provides a comprehensive, multi-team approach for improving embryonal tumor diagnostics and treatment by the integration, assessment and validation of information generated by basic research utilising high-throughput technologies. In this integrated post-genomic research effort, we conceive dual pipelines concentrating on (1) state-of-the-art diagnostics and (2) innovative drug development and preclinical testing to channel these efforts. The driving force of the proposal is a set of 10 workpackages, each specifically addressing the integration of a key technological platform in the embryonal tumors diagnostics and drug development pipelines making all platforms available for use by all consortium partners. The consortium has been initiated between groups with existing strong links to ease development into a well-managed network successfully combining scientific and clinical competence. All partners represent internationally recognised research groups with records of excellence in embryonal tumors research and with extensive expertise in the technologies proposed here. Cooperations between partners were initiated in national genome research networks, which generated a tremendous amount of genomic and proteomic data for embryonal tumors. This proposal attempts to take these efforts to the next level, providing a framework for validation and development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic tools. |
